PROJECT STORY

Interstitial is an extension of Tegner’s Museum that is designed to create a more seamless connection between the extensive landscape and the monolithic existing building. While the existing museum’s relation to the surrounding nature is sharply defined, the extension explores the interstices between landscape and nature by introducing space that is outdoors but closely between building walls. The center circle and spaces in between each building are meant to provide a place for visitors to contemplate our relationship to both nature and what is built.
